Grinnell College

Grinnell College is hosting the two-day Midwest Conference Tournament starting Friday, Feb. 23. The first semifinal contest starts at 5 pm with Ripon College (3rd seed) facing Carroll College (2nd seed). The 7 pm game features Grinnell Pioneers (top seed) taking on Lake Forest College.

The winners of these two games will meet in the championship game on Feb. 24. For those of you who are not familiar with Grinnell basketball, it is a must-see event. They have attracted attention for their playing style, known as “The System,” which includes substitutions of five players at a time every 35 to 40 seconds.

Update: Grinnell College lost in the semifinal round of the tournament (94-79).
