Festival Week in the Roosevelt Cultural District

by James on July 15, 2008

The Roosevelt Cultural District is a happenin’ place this week, and much of it is free and for the whole family. Check the schedule and be there. Most of the activities are after work and center around the Roosevelt Shopping Center on 42nd Street north of I-235.  Jazz in July events are Tuesday from 6:30 – 8 and Wednesday from 7 – 9 behind the shopping center, a 50′s car show and firehouse truck display from 5:30-8 on Thursday, visual arts Tuesday through Friday, food vendors, and Grease opens at the Des Moines Playhouse on Friday.

These activities in the Roosevelt Cultural District are funded by grants from the Iowa Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, individual contributors, local organizations, and the shops in the District. Thanks for the great events.
