Thresholds Arts Festival

The annual Thresholds Arts Festival will again be held in the Drake Neighborhood of Des Moines on Friday-Sunday, Feb. 24-25. This year the festival is focusing on Point V. of the U.N.E.S.C.O Culture of Peace Pledge: Preserve the Planet (program).

Special guests include:

  • Jerome Kills Small - Storyteller and Oral Historian, SDSU Faculty
  • Jean-Michel Cousteau - Ocean Conservationist, Explorer, Film Producer
  • Richie Havens - Singer, Songwriter, Educator

The Thresholds Arts Festival uses arts events and special speakers to increase understanding of the Six Points of U.N.E.S.C.O. Culture of Peace Pledge, which strengthens the culture of peace in communities:

II.) Reject Violence
III.) Share with Others
IV.) Listen to Understand
V.) Preserve the Planet
VI.) Rediscover Solidarity
